With degrees from Shandong University and Virginia Tech, as well as postdoctoral training at Argonne and Los Alamos National Laboratories, Dr. Yu brings extensive expertise in molecular simulations, battery materials, and electrochemistry.

Position Overview:

Dr. Yu is seeking motivated individuals to join his research group to study the physicochemical properties of advanced functional materials, focusing on battery materials, through molecular simulations. Successful candidates will collaborate with scientists from Oak Ridge and Argonne National Laboratories on cutting-edge research projects. These fully funded positions come with competitive stipends and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related fields.
  • Academic Requirements: Minimum GPA of 3.3 for Bachelor’s degree holders, and 3.0 for Master’s degree holders.
  • Language Proficiency: TOEFL ≥ 79 or IELTS ≥ 6.5.
  • GRE Scores: GRE ≥ 300 (waivers available for eligible candidates).
  • Skills: Familiarity with molecular simulation software and proficiency in a programming language are beneficial.
