About the PI – Dr. Zhou Yu: Dr. Zhou Yu, an accomplished researcher, will be joining the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor. With a rich academic background including degrees from Shandong University and Virginia Tech, as well as postdoctoral training at Argonne and Los Alamos National Laboratories, Dr. Yu brings a wealth of expertise in molecular simulations, battery materials, and electrochemistry.
Position Details: Dr. Yu is seeking motivated individuals to join his research group, focusing on comprehending the physicochemical properties of advanced functional materials, particularly battery materials, through molecular simulations. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with scientists from Oak Ridge and Argonne National Laboratories on cutting-edge research projects. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum GPA of 3.3 for Bachelor’s degree holders and 3.0 for Master’s degree holders.
- English proficiency (TOFEL ≥ 79 or IELTS ≥ 6.5) and GRE scores (GRE ≥ 300, waiver available for eligible candidates).
- Familiarity with molecular simulations software and proficiency in a programming language are advantageous.
