Myanmar Visa Sponsorship Jobs in 2026: Business Visa, Labour Card and eStay

Myanmar visa sponsorship jobs in 2026 generally require a real operating company to support business-visa entry, the applicable foreign-worker employment registration or labour card, and a stay extension. These steps are not interchangeable. A business visa permits business-purpose entry; an eStay extension permits continued residence; neither alone proves that employment registration is complete.

The route depends on the employer. Companies with a Myanmar Investment Commission permit or endorsement and businesses in a special economic zone use investment or SEZ channels. Other active DICA-registered companies can use DICA and the official eStay framework for qualifying directors and foreign technicians.

Choose the correct Myanmar route

Employer or applicant Labour/recommendation channel Immigration layer Key evidence
MIC-permitted or endorsed company MIC/DICA One Stop and labour section Business visa, stay extension and re-entry where needed MIC approval, approved employee list and labour registration
Special economic zone company SEZ management committee labour section Business visa and approved stay SEZ recommendation and company records
Ordinary DICA-registered company DICA recommendation plus relevant labour authority Official business-visa eStay Active MyCO status, operating evidence, contract and qualifications
Trading company Ministry of Commerce recommendation channel Business visa and stay permission Trading registration and current business evidence
Foreign director DICA or MIC route based on company Company-sponsored eStay MyCO director listing and corporate responsibility letter

Business visa is not a work permit

Myanmar’s official eStay service starts from a valid business visa. The latest entry visa must be a business visa, and the applicant must remain in Myanmar during the application through passport-sticker affixture. A passport needs at least six months’ remaining validity.

That system extends stay and can issue a re-entry visa. It does not replace any labour registration required for the foreign employee. Applicants should ask for both sets of evidence rather than accepting a passport sticker as proof of employment authorization.

The sponsor must be active in MyCO

The sponsoring company must be incorporated and registered with DICA and shown as registered in Myanmar Companies Online. A director who appears in MyCO submits the extension request on company letterhead and assumes responsibility for the foreign national.

Use the public MyCO search to confirm the exact company name, registration number and status. A company that is suspended, struck off or absent from MyCO cannot credibly promise the ordinary eStay route. The name in the offer, contract, invitation and application should match.

Company registration alone is not evidence of genuine operations. DICA and immigration can examine licences, contracts, tax records, invoices, local and foreign employee lists and the actual business site.

Foreign technicians must prove the role

DICA guidance supports foreign technicians employed by foreign or local companies, as well as directors of qualifying foreign companies. The technician file includes professional qualification evidence, an employment contract, job title and full responsibilities.

A broad title such as consultant, manager or engineer is not enough. The candidate should provide degrees, professional certificates and experience evidence relevant to the listed duties. The employer should explain why the role is needed in its current operations.

Ordinary low-skilled vacancies do not fit comfortably into a foreign-technician recommendation. An offer for packing, cleaning, driving or online chat work with no skills assessment deserves heightened scrutiny.

MIC and SEZ foreign-worker registration

Myanmar’s government service for foreign-worker employment registration is explicitly tied to a recommendation from the Myanmar Investment Commission or a special economic zone management committee. The applicant files through the labour section of the MIC departmental cooperation team or the relevant SEZ One Stop Service Center.

The published evidence includes the application form, authority letter, investor recommendation, foreign-worker registration form, CV, employment contract, passport, income-tax receipts, company registration, private-industry registration where relevant, MIC or SEZ recommendation and photographs.

MOVAS is limited to companies holding an MIC permit, MIC endorsement or region/state endorsement. A company without that status should not claim it can use MOVAS merely by paying an agent.

The ordinary company recommendation route

For qualifying non-MIC companies, DICA facilitates visa-extension recommendations for foreign-company directors and foreign technicians employed by foreign or local companies. The company submits an application and undertaking signed by its managing director, passport and photographs, company records, current activity evidence, staff list, qualifications, contract and job description.

Trading companies are directed to the Ministry of Commerce for the visa-extension recommendation. Other ministry-related activities can require a recommendation from the responsible ministry. The correct channel depends on the actual regulated business, not the recruiter’s preference.

SME field inspection

The 2026 eStay conditions require small and medium enterprises to attach a business licence and a recommendation from state or region officers. That recommendation follows a field inspection to establish that the inviting company is operating at the stated location and employs the applicant.

This control makes shell-company sponsorship risky. A virtual address, dormant registration or office that has never heard of the candidate can lead to rejection. Applicants should interview with actual managers and confirm the workplace before travelling.

eStay application sequence

  1. Enter with the correct business visa. Preserve the visa and arrival record.
  2. Verify MyCO status. Confirm the sponsor and responsible director are registered.
  3. Complete labour registration. Use MIC, SEZ or other applicable labour channel.
  4. Obtain the correct recommendation. DICA, MIC, SEZ, Commerce or another ministry may be involved.
  5. The director submits eStay. Upload company, applicant and recommendation records.
  6. Pay only after official approval notice. Follow the payment link in the government email.
  7. Affix the passport sticker. Attend the designated office and add re-entry permission if travel is planned.

An applicant who has overstayed more than ten days is ineligible for the official online eStay route. Changing from the original business visa to another visa type can also make the person ineligible. Do not let an agent create an overstay while promising a later fix.

Stay extension and re-entry are separate

A stay extension allows the person to remain until its expiry. A re-entry visa protects the ability to leave and return during that period. Its validity expires with the stay permission. Travel without the correct re-entry facility can disrupt status.

The official portal publishes separate processing fees and notes that they exclude overstay fines and Foreigner Registration Certificate charges. Do not treat a private agent’s bundled price as an official fee schedule.

Renewal planning

Begin extension work before the current stay expires. DICA’s published recommendation terms call for submission at least ten working days before expiry, while the government eStay process can also depend on company, ministry and field-inspection evidence. Ten days should be treated as a minimum filing point, not a complete preparation schedule.

Check that the company remains registered in MyCO, its director listing is current, tax evidence is available and labour registration remains valid. A suspended company or expired passport can interrupt the stay process even when employment continues.

Workers planning travel should request re-entry permission with or after the stay extension as allowed. The re-entry authorization ends with the underlying stay date. Keep the approval email, payment receipt and passport-sticker copy, and verify the dates before leaving Myanmar.

Documents and tax evidence

The sponsor can be asked for current operations, licences, business contracts, employee lists and corporate-income-tax evidence. Foreign technicians can be asked for personal-income-tax receipts when extending labour registration, as well as passport, CV, contract and qualifications.

Prepare records with identical name spelling, passport number, title and employer. Ask whether foreign certificates need translation, notarisation or legalization. Never buy a fabricated degree, tax receipt or MyCO extract.

Contract and salary checks

Myanmar does not publish one universal foreign-sponsorship salary that approves every job. Salary must be credible for the role and consistent with the contract, payroll and personal-income-tax reporting. A foreign-technician route should not be supported by a token wage that contradicts the claimed expertise.

The contract should state legal employer, title, detailed duties, worksite, term, salary and currency, allowances, probation, hours, leave, insurance, housing, tax, permit costs, termination and repatriation. Clarify exchange-rate treatment and whether salary is paid locally or partly offshore.

Changing employer or role

The sponsoring company and director take responsibility for the worker. Moving to another employer therefore requires the new company to establish its own valid route and update labour and immigration records before work starts.

A materially different role can invalidate the qualification and job-description basis used in the application. An engineer registered for an MIC project should not assume the same approval covers unrelated sales or online operations.

Family members

DICA and MIC channels can facilitate stay recommendations for qualifying family members of directors and foreign technicians. Relationship evidence such as marriage and birth certificates is required. Family stay does not automatically authorize employment.

A dependant who accepts work needs the proper employer-backed labour and immigration position. Verify this before performing paid or unpaid operational duties for a family business.

Where sponsorship is realistic

Credible foreign recruitment is most likely in investment projects and roles requiring scarce management or technical expertise: manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, engineering, specialised construction, finance, international logistics, hospitality leadership, education and development work.

Applicants comparing nearby markets can read TrendyAcads’ Thailand Non-B and work-permit guide and Vietnam Decree 219 guide. Their labour systems cannot be copied into Myanmar.

Security and trafficking risk

Jobseekers should apply enhanced due diligence to online sales, cryptocurrency, casino, customer-service and data-entry offers, especially near border areas or compounds. Warning signs include travel arranged before a real interview, confiscation of passports, locked accommodation, scripts for deceiving customers and threats tied to recruitment debt.

Share the contract, location and travel plan with trusted contacts. Keep control of the passport and independent funds. If duties differ materially from the offer or movement is restricted, seek help from the appropriate embassy, authorities or recognized anti-trafficking service.

How to verify a Myanmar offer

Check Credible evidence Warning sign
Company Active MyCO record, real office and operating evidence Company is suspended or cannot be found
Route MIC, SEZ, DICA or Commerce channel clearly identified Agent promises one route for every employer
Role Qualifications, contract and duties align Foreign-technician title hides unskilled work
Labour record Official employment registration or labour card evidence Business visa presented as the only permission
eStay Government portal and MyCO-listed director request Payment on an unrelated private portal
Safety Known worksite, normal interview and passport control retained Secret compound and recruitment debt

Common sponsorship scams

  • A business eVisa sold as a complete work permit.
  • A fake MIC endorsement or labour-card screenshot.
  • A dormant MyCO company used to issue invitation letters.
  • A foreign-technician role with no qualification review.
  • A demand for crypto, gift cards or payment to a personal account.
  • A contract replaced after arrival with online scam duties.
  • An employer retaining the passport or restricting movement.
  • A promise to cure a long overstay through eStay.

A practical application strategy

Search MyCO first. Then determine whether the employer has MIC/region endorsement, SEZ status, trading-company status or an ordinary DICA route. Ask who handles labour registration and who signs the eStay responsibility letter.

Match your qualifications to the written duties, review the complete contract and verify the worksite. Do not start work merely because the business visa was issued. Keep copies of every labour, immigration, tax and payment record.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Myanmar business visa authorize work?

No. It supports business-purpose entry, but the applicable foreign-worker registration or labour authorization must also be completed.

Who can sponsor an eStay extension?

An active DICA-registered company through a director listed in MyCO, with any required ministry or field-inspection recommendation.

Can any company use MOVAS?

No. The portal says only companies with an MIC permit, MIC endorsement or region/state endorsement can register.

What evidence does a foreign technician need?

Expect qualifications, contract, CV, title, detailed duties and company/tax evidence, with route-specific additions.

Can I apply after a long overstay?

The eStay portal says applicants who overstay more than ten days are ineligible through that system.

Can dependants work automatically?

No. Their family stay does not replace employer-backed labour authorization.

Final assessment

A genuine Myanmar sponsorship case has an active MyCO employer, the correct MIC, SEZ, DICA or ministry route, documented labour registration and valid business-visa stay. A visa sticker alone is incomplete proof.
